The Crown in Goostrey to Welcome Visitors for Food & Drink Festival

We are proud to announce our inaugural Food & Drink Festival, building upon the success of our beer festivals in previous years, to include a host of local suppliers and businesses.

Come rain or shine, guests will be treated to a weekend of fantastic produce to sample from all across Cheshire and the British Isles, including a well-stocked beer tent with a range of ales and ciders to try, as well as bespoke bars from our resident lager breweries, Estrella and Wrexham Lager.

There will also be a number of stalls where guests will be able to purchase food from local producers, as well as crafts, plants and a host of other merchandise.

Kicking off at 4pm on Friday evening with the opening of the beer tent, there will be an evening barbecue prepared by our talented team of chefs and live music to entertain guests until late.

Saturday and Sunday will see the set-up of stalls until early evening, with a hog roast and live entertainment for guests to enjoy well into the night. There will also be a range of entertainment and activities for kids with a bouncy castle and face painter until 6pm.

General Manager, Shaun Daley, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting our first Food & Drink Festival and have had fantastic support from a number of local businesses wishing to get involved in the event. We pride ourselves on offering an event that guests of all ages can enjoy, and hope to make this a regular event if it proves to be successful.

“As well as our familiar faces, we are looking forward to welcoming a number of new visitors to The Crown from the surrounding area to enjoy the festivities throughout the weekend.

“We are still taking requests for stalls at the festival, and anyone wishing to get involved and showcase their goods can contact the team on”

The Hub

Our hospitality training programme is open to all ages, whether 18 or 65, all year round. The only requirements are that applicants hold no previous experience and have a strong work ethic.

As well as gaining formal qualifications accredited by City & Guilds, ‘rookies’ will experience what it means to work in the day-to-day operation of hospitality venues, as well as have the unique opportunity to experience exciting and informative external trips with a range of established hospitality partners.

“What we want to offer at The Hub is not only a practical training programme but life-changing experiences, beginning with being handed an alarm clock to help with those early mornings and a ‘rookie’ badge. Those who succeed will not only receive graduation honours, they will receive a job guarantee at either one of our venues or one of our carefully selected partners.”
